Leona LaurenLeona Louise Lewis, born on April 3, 1985 is an actor, singer, and activist from Britain. Her birthplace was in the London Borough Of Islington she went to the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology, Croydon. Lewis achieved national recognition when she won the third series of The X Factor in 2006 and was awarded an PS1 million recording deal in partnership with Syco Music. The song she was awarded in the contest, which was a cover the song of Kelly Clarkson "A Moment like This" that was released, received 50,000 downloads within 30 minutes. It also reached the top spot for about four weeks. In February 2007 Lewis signed a five-album contract in the United States with Clive Davis's record label J Records. The success of Lewis continued after the release of her first studio album, Spirit (2007), that was certified platinum 10x in the UK and was subsequently the fourth-highest-selling album of the 2000s and one of the most popular albums sold in UK chart time. According to the Official Charts Company claims that Spirit was the 21st-century's best-selling debut album by a female. Its single "Bleeding Love" remained at the top of UK charts for seven straight weeks, and was the top-selling single of the year 2007. The track was the highest-seller during 2008, as well. Lewis won an award for her work, the Billboard Award for the Most Popular New Artist. In 2009, she released her second studio album, Echo and also composed the theme song, "I See You" in the movie Avatar. Lewis' hit single "Collide," was an collaboration with Swedish DJ Avicii and she also dropped Hurt The EP, her first play that was extended. The third album she released, Glassheart (2012), was a departure in direction for Lewis taking on dubstep and electronic music. During her Glassheart Tour in 2013, she began recording songs for her debut Christmas album. Following that, her album Christmas with Love was released, and included the lead single "One more night" came in at number three within the UK. With this chart entry, Lewis made history as the only British single female to reach the top five with eight singles. She beat Olivia Newton-John's record set by seven.
